Sharing The Love Award

So I was nominated for a variation of a Liebster Sharing the Love Award thanks to:

http://invisiblewoman13.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/sharing-the-love-award/

I’ve never received one before but it appears to be some form of chain mail type thing (though much better than the ‘forward this to 13 people or the ceiling will cave in and kill you in your sleep’ sort of chain mail). Unless I am mistaken it seems I am to answer the following questions then nominate others for the award so here goes!

1. Name an enduring sorrow, something that has lasted over a year

Bulimia

2. Best song that encaptures an enduring sorrow

Depends if we’re talking any enduring sorrow or my enduring sorrow. For mine specifically I would say ‘Skinny Love’ by Bon Iver. It used to sort of spur me on in my anorexia because I thought it was such a beautiful piece of music but now I can see a hauntingly ugly yet very relateable side of it. So many lines strike a chord that will always bring back memories. This would be the first to come to mind if you said sum up the eating disorder with a song

Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt, we were never here
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

Tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Right in this moment this order’s tall

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind

In the morning I’ll be with you
But it will be a different kind
I’ll be holding all the tickets
And you’ll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love, what happened here?
We suckled on the hope in lite brassieres
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Sullen load is full, so slow on the split

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind

And now all your love is wasted
And then who the hell was I?
And I’m breaking at the britches
And at the end of all your lines

Who will love you?
Who will fight?
Who will fall far behind?
Ooh, ooh

3. Band with the best lyrics

I would probably say Radical Face. Bands usually become my favorite then I over listen to them and they sort of fade to a time slot of my life. However, though I would no longer claim Radical Face are my favorite I think I will always really cherish their music. Sometimes I just like to listen and imagine a whole different world, separate mine from me.

The artists puts poetry into music and it is beautiful.

4. Band with the best music

I know it’s a lame answer but I simply cannot choose. As I read in another blog music has been there for me when nobody else has. Thus I find it impossible to condense it down into a ‘favorite’ or a ‘best’. People say they can’t pick a favorite of their children and in some weird way I feel the same with this even though it’s nowhere near as personal. It very much depends on my mood and this varies far too often to be accurate because if I read this back tomorrow the band I put will probably have changed.

5. How do you relate to nature? I mean do you need it, trees, lakes, seas, mountains etc?

I would say without nature I don’t know if I would want to be alive. At least, without animals. Sometimes nature is the only place I can find solitude when the rat race of humanity fails me.

Nature is beautiful and it breaks  my heart to see it destroyed.

So yes, I guess I sort of need it.

6. Appliance you cannot do without

Typical teenage girl answer… My phone.

7. Have you ever been bullied?

Yes, maybe the most damaging of whom was myself.

8. Did you ever sleep with someone because that would be easier than telling that person no? Describe that.

No I haven’t.

9. Is there a painter you like? Link please

Not really a painter but forgive me, and he does paint sometimes though it’s his other works that grip me more. Damien Hirst. I love his portrayal of biology into art, making science merge into a creative form. I guess it is bringing together two things I love which are portrayed as opposites. Yet, as he shows, they’re not always.

10. Favorite YouTube clip – Link please

The first 30 seconds/1 minute is a bit dull but stick with it.

11. Most masochistic thing about you

I have been trying to think of an answer for about 2 minutes now and have come to the conclusion that I am simply in now way masochistic, as far as I am aware…

I believe the idea is to nominate 11 others but I only wish to nominate 2:
